Coxcomb Prominent - has a wingspan of around 35-40 mm. It flies in two generations between May and June and again in August. They vary in shades and are attracted to light. It has a distinctive tuft of cream coloured hairs from the thorax when at rest. Widespread throughout Ireland and the UK. Photographed in Co. Leitrim.
