The bird-cherry ermine has an average wing span of 20 mm. Flight is in July and August. It rests with wings rolled and drop to the ground if disturbed. The larvae of this moth can smother trees with fine webbing which can even defoliate the whole tree. Luckily then I only spotted this single one next to my cherry tree!
