Irish status: Widespread and Common

True Lovers Knot - has a wingspan of 25-30 mm. A small moth with attractive markings. It flies in a single generation from June to August and is attracted to light. One of the main food plants is heather. Common across Ireland and the UK. Photographed in Co. Leitrim flying in early July.
