Irish status: Common Locally

The Campion - this moth flies in two generations between May and September. It has a wingspan of 27-30 mm and is attracted to light. The two main foodplants are Campion and Ragged Robin. It is found throughout the whole of Europe and up to 1600 metres above sea level. A very attractive moth. The yellowish outlines on then wings can resemble gold strands in the sunlight.
