Theclinesthes miskini

Wattle Blue - this small butterfly is found in Australia and new Guinea. It has a wingspan of around 20 mm. There are several generations during the year. They inhabit arid shrubland, forests and woodland. Due to the general variability of all these species, identification of individual specimens can be very difficult. It is very similar to the Cycad Blue. This one has been recorded as Wattle due to the foodplant and area. Photographed in Bundaberg Australia.
