Gonepteryx cleopatra

Cleopatra - The Cleopatra is found in the warmer regions of Europe including most of Spain and Portugal, the south of France, Italy, Croatia, southern Greece, Turkey and most Mediterranean islands. It flies from May to August in most parts of its range so I was lucky to come across this beautiful butterfly in early flight during May in the Portugal at the Fonte Da Benemola Trail. It closely resembles the Brimstone.
