Pieris rapae

Small White - A very common butterfly which can be found all around the British Isles and Ireland. Sometimes they even fly into Britain from the Europe where they are also abundant. It can be seen almost anywhere in fields, hedgerows and gardens. This and the Large White are also know as the cabbage white which has obviously caused it to be unfavoured by most gardeners and allotment owners!
