Scalloped Hazel - A common moth of northern and central Europe. It has a wingspan of 46-50 mm. The colour is very variable from nearly black to a light buff. They fly from May to June and is attracted to light. It feeds on a variety of food plants. Not just hazel as the name may suggest. Can be identified by the small discal spot on each wing.
