Irish status: Widespread and Common

Pebble Prominent - has a wingspan of 40-45 mm. It flies from May to August and is attracted to light. It prefers damp areas. The caterpillars main foodplants are poplar and salis. So called because of the pebble-shaped mark on the forewings. Photographed in Co. Leitrim.
