Angerona prunaria

Irish status: Scarce

Orange Moth - wingspan of 35-45 mm. Very variable in colour. They fly from May to July. The lava feed on a variety of foodplant such as hawthorn, birch, heather and blackthorn. This well worn specimen was photographed in Co. Leitrim Ireland where this one was flying in July. Scarce for this area.
