Lilac Beauty - This moth has a wingspan of around 40 mm. It flies in June to July where it habits hedgerows and woodland. The appearance is of a dying leaf. It has a strange way of folding it's wings which look crumpled. It is distributed across the majority of Ireland and the Britain. Not so common in Scotland. This one turned up at Greaghnafarna Co. Leitrim in early July.
