UK stautus: Rare

Goldwing - A very rare moth in the UK. One was reported to have been caught in Devon in 1937, so a rare UK moth indeed! I photographed this one though in the Algarve at Praia Da Rocha Portugal where it is more abundant. It is a nocturnal moth which spends the daytime hours resting in vegetation as seen here. Although this one seems to be daytime feeding on vetch. Bitumen Vetch is it's main food plant. It was interesting to research this moth for the information. Thanks to some of my friends.
