Irish status: Widespread and Common

Clouded Silver - a single generation moth that flies in May and June. Hawthorn and Blackthorn are the main food plants. Named because of the clouding effect on the wings. It has a wingspan of 26-30 mm. Well established here in Ireland and in the UK. Photographed at Greaghnafarna Co. Leitrim.
