Irish Status: Widespread and Common

Burnished Brass - with a wingspan of 32-38 mm this attractive moth has a spectacular brassy, metallic sheen on the forewings. The main foodplants are Buddleia, Red Valerian and Honeysuckle. They have two broods and fly from between June and September. They are attracted to light. Photographed in Greaghnafarna Co. Leitrim flying in July.
