Cleorodes lichenaria

Irish status: Widespread

Brussels Lace - has a wingspan of 31-38 mm. They fly in one generation from June to August and are attracted to light. They prefer a woodland habitat. The caterpillar (if located) is unmistakable as it closely resembles lichen on which it feeds hence the Latin name. Photographed in Co. Leitrim.
