Acraea andromacha

Glasswing - found in Australia and New Guinea. It has a wingspan of around 60 mm. So called because the wings are so thinly scaled to the extent that in many species they are semi-transparent. It inhabits arid forests. Photograph taken in the Bundaberg region of Australia.
