Irish status: Widespread and Common

Flame Shoulder - This moth has two generations flying in May and June and August to September. It has a wingspan of around 31 mm. Quite easy to identify with the white margins down outer edge of the wings. Quite widespread and common. Photographed in Leitrim flying in early July.
